Recently, liberal Fox News contributor Jessica Tarlov faced criticism for a tweet regarding border security in which she asserted that American residents make up the majority of fentanyl smugglers carrying the lethal synthetic drug into the US. Tarlov asserted that these criminal actors also needed to be addressed, using Trump’s own phrase, “bad hombres.”

Journalist Ishaan Tharoor of the Washington Post wrote on X, which sparked the tweet: “Mexican President Sheinbaum fires back at Trump in a statement: “Seventy percent of the illegal weapons seized from criminals in Mexico come from your country. We do not produce these weapons, nor do we consume synthetic drugs. Tragically, it is in our country that lives are lost to the violence resulting from meeting the drug demand in yours.”
