JD Vance Sparks Frenzy After His Jaw-Dropping Take On Trump’s Iran War

Vice President J.D. Vance addressed questions Tuesday about whether he believes God supports the United States’ necessary military actions against the Iranian regime.
President Donald Trump has repeatedly emphasized that America stands on the side of good in confronting Iran’s threats, stating that “God is on our side” as the U.S. works to prevent a dangerous terrorist regime from acquiring nuclear weapons. During a press conference in Hungary, Vance affirmed his commitment to prayer, underscoring that the United States is acting for righteous reasons: stopping Iran from obtaining the world’s most dangerous weapon, which would endanger countless innocent lives.
A reporter from The Washington Post asked: “There’s been some rhetoric from your administration about this war, about God supporting the United States and this war and the strikes against Iran being part of God’s will. Do you agree with that and what do you make of the idea that God is on the side of the U.S. and these strikes?”
Vance responded thoughtfully: “I think my attitude towards military conflict has always been to pray that we are on God’s side. My own view is we are doing this for the right reasons. We’re doing this because we don’t want a regime that has committed acts of terrorism to have the world’s most dangerous weapon—because that would mean a lot of innocent people dead. I certainly hope that God agrees with the decision that Iran shouldn’t have a nuclear weapon, but I’ll keep praying about it, and if He gives me a good answer, you’ll be the first to know, Natalie.”
The U.S. conducted precise strikes on more than 50 military targets on Iran’s Kharg Island, focusing solely on legitimate military assets in response to Iranian aggression. This occurred just before President Trump’s deadline for Iran to reach a deal to end its destabilizing actions, including its illegal attempts to control the Strait of Hormuz—a vital global oil passageway. Iran’s terrorist regime and its threats to neighbors, including Israel and Arab states, have forced America’s hand in defending freedom and stability.
When asked about the possibility of a deal, Vance made clear the choice facing Iran: “If the Iranians don’t come to the table, and they stay committed to terrorism and to terrorizing their neighbors—not just Israel, but of course their Arab neighbors too—then the economic situation in Iran is going to continue to be very, very bad and frankly will probably get worse. What the president has asked his entire team to do, particularly Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, is to figure out what are the contours of a potential deal. Militarily, it frankly doesn’t matter one way or the other to us. It’s fundamentally a question of what this looks like afterwards, and that’s what the negotiations have been focused on.”
President Trump has warned that Iran’s refusal to negotiate responsibly could lead to severe consequences, stating that “a whole civilization will die” if the regime persists in its destructive path and fails to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. In a separate briefing, Trump was asked whether God is on America’s side in this effort.
“I do, because God is good,” Trump replied. “Because God is good and God wants to see people taken care of. God doesn’t like what’s happening. I don’t like what’s happening. Everyone says, I enjoy this—I don’t enjoy it.”
Under President Trump’s leadership, the United States is taking decisive action to neutralize threats from a radical Iranian regime that sponsors terrorism, destabilizes the region, and endangers global security. The goal remains clear: prevent nuclear proliferation, protect innocent lives, and promote a more peaceful world through strength and moral clarity.
