Democrat Politician Ditches Party, Switches To Republican

Dale Girard, a New Hampshire state representative and the mayor of Claremont, announced that he has formally left the Democratic Party and registered as a Republican.

“This morning, I went to Claremont City Hall and officially changed my party affiliation to the Republican Party,” Girard wrote in a Facebook post.

Girard said the decision came after “a great deal of thought and consideration” and emphasized that it was not motivated by any personal dispute with Democratic leadership.

“I want to be clear, this is not a reflection of any issue I have with Democratic Party leadership,” he wrote. “However, during my time serving as a Representative in Concord, I came to realize that my personal ideologies did not align as closely with the party as I once believed.”

Girard described the switch as a reflection of how he has voted in recent years.

“Over the years, many have described me as a ‘Blue Dog Democrat,’ a label more common in the John F. Kennedy era than in today’s political climate,” he wrote. “My voting record over the past two years has often aligned more closely with Republican positions, and this change reflects that reality.”

He also sought to reassure local residents that the party change would not affect his approach to governing, especially in his role as mayor.

“That said, changing my party affiliation does not change who I am,” Girard wrote. “My commitment remains the same: to represent the best interests of the City of Claremont, the Town of Croydon, and the State of New Hampshire.”

“This also does not affect my role as Mayor, which is a nonpartisan position,” he added.

Girard said he intends to carry the party switch into the next election cycle.

“If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to continuing my work in Concord and will be running as a Republican in the next election cycle, which opens in early June,” he wrote.

The announcement was quickly celebrated by Republicans online, with social media posts describing the move as a “REPUBLICAN FLIP” and a “Big win for @NHGOP.”

For New Hampshire Republicans, the switch may be viewed as another example of ongoing political realignment heading into the midterm elections.

For Girard, however, the explanation was straightforward: he said his priorities have not changed, only the party affiliation he believes better reflects them.

Melania Goes Scorched Earth After Trump Assassination Attempt

First Lady Melania Trump publicly criticized late-night host Jimmy Kimmel on Monday over remarks he reportedly made about her family during a recent monologue.

In a post shared on X, Melania said Kimmel’s comments were divisive and harmful to the country’s political climate.

“Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy — his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America,” she wrote.

She continued by arguing that television personalities who spread hostility should not be welcomed into viewers’ homes each night.

“People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate,” she added.

Melania also criticized ABC, the network that airs Kimmel’s show, accusing executives of protecting the host despite repeated controversy.

“A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community,” she concluded.

The backlash followed remarks Kimmel reportedly made during a parody of the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where he joked that Melania looked like an “expectant widow.” He also joked about her upcoming birthday.

Critics on social media condemned the comments as inappropriate and tasteless, especially given heightened political tensions. Several conservative commentators called on ABC to reconsider Kimmel’s future with the network.

The controversy comes amid an already tense political environment, with public figures and media personalities facing increasing scrutiny over rhetoric and tone.

First Lady Melania Trump spoke out Monday following controversy surrounding comments made by late-night host Jimmy Kimmel.

In a statement posted to social media, Melania criticized Kimmel’s remarks, calling them divisive and inappropriate.

“Kimmel’s hateful and violent rhetoric is intended to divide our country. His monologue about my family isn’t comedy—his words are corrosive and deepens the political sickness within America,” she wrote.

“People like Kimmel shouldn’t have the opportunity to enter our homes each evening to spread hate,” she continued.

Melania also called on ABC, which airs Kimmel’s show, to take action.

“A coward, Kimmel hides behind ABC because he knows the network will keep running cover to protect him. Enough is enough. It is time for ABC to take a stand. How many times will ABC’s leadership enable Kimmel’s atrocious behavior at the expense of our community,” she added.

The criticism followed backlash over jokes Kimmel made referencing the First Lady during a parody segment tied to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. In the segment, Kimmel joked about Melania’s appearance and upcoming birthday, remarks that drew criticism from some commentators online.

Several conservative voices reacted strongly to the monologue. Larry O’Connor described the comedian as a “broken man,” while others on social media called the jokes “tasteless” and questioned whether ABC should continue airing his program. Political commentator Link Lauren also criticized the remarks, calling them inappropriate and divisive.

The controversy comes amid heightened political tensions in Washington following security concerns at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, where attendees—including President Donald Trump, members of his Cabinet, lawmakers, and journalists—were briefly evacuated after reports of a security incident.

In remarks afterward, Trump called for unity and emphasized the importance of resolving political differences peacefully.

“When you’re impactful, they go after you,” Trump said. “We’re not going to let anybody take over our society.”

Officials have not released full details about the incident, and investigations are ongoing.

Stunning News Drops On What Trump Privately Did Right After Assassination Attempt

Claims circulated Sunday that President Donald Trump personally called Jonathan Karl after an alleged shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner the night before. However, no credible public reporting from major outlets or official law enforcement sources has confirmed that such a shooting occurred.

According to the account, Karl said Trump called his landline shortly after 7 a.m. to check on his well-being following the reported incident.

“He was calling to see if I was ok with what happened last night,” Karl was quoted as saying.

The report further claimed Trump emphasized a sense of unity he observed at the gathering and was eager to reschedule the dinner soon. Karl reportedly said the president was “quite firm” about that point.

The unverified account alleged that the suspected gunman was a 31-year-old man from Torrance, California, who approached a security checkpoint at the Washington Hilton carrying multiple weapons and injured a Secret Service agent before being taken into custody. It also claimed the agent avoided serious injury because of a protective chest plate.

The story further stated that attendees—including the president, cabinet officials, lawmakers from both parties, and journalists—were evacuated after shots were fired, and that the event was canceled despite Trump’s desire to continue.

It also attributed later remarks to Trump during an impromptu White House press conference in which he described the dinner as an event meant to promote free speech and unity.

“This was an event dedicated to freedom of speech that was supposed to bring together members of both parties with members of the press, and in a certain way it did, because the fact that they just unified us through a room that was just totally unified. It was, in one way, very beautiful, a very beautiful thing to see,” the president was quoted as saying.

Trump was also quoted as saying those in attendance represented a wide range of political viewpoints and that “We have to, we have to resolve our differences.”

At this time, there is no verified evidence from established news organizations or official agencies confirming that the reported shooting or aftermath occurred as described.
