Artemis II pilot Victor Glover praises God after return, says mission was ‘too big to be in one body’

Published

Artemis II astronaut Victor Glover on Saturday used a public appearance to praise God and talk about how he felt a deep sense of gratitude following the crew’s monumental return from space.

Glover and his fellow astronauts spoke in Houston, Texas, about the experience of traveling to the far side of the moon, farther from Earth than any in human mission.

“I wanted to thank God in public,” Victor Glover said. “And I want to thank God again, because even bigger than my challenge trying to describe what we went through, the gratitude of seeing what we saw, doing what we did and being with who I was with… it’s too big to just be in one body.”

The appearance marked the crew’s first official public remarks after the mission, which carried astronauts more than 200,000 miles from Earth before returning safely. Crew members described both the technical demands of the mission and the personal impact of the journey.

“I have not processed what we just did, and I’m afraid to start even trying,” Glover said.

“I wanted to thank our families for everything, and I want to thank our leadership. We are fortunate to be in this agency at this time together.”

Commander Reid Wiseman spoke about the bond formed among the crew during the mission.

“We are bonded forever and no one down here is ever going to know what the four of us just went through,” Wiseman said. “And it was the most special thing that will ever happen in my life.”

Wiseman also addressed the experience of being far from Earth and the impact on the astronauts’ families.

“No one knows what the families went through,” he said. “This was not easy, being 200,000+ miles away from home.”

Mission specialist Christina Koch described how her understanding of teamwork evolved during the mission.

“A crew is people, that is in it all the time, no matter what, that is willing to sacrifice silently for each other,” Koch said. “A crew is inescapably, beautifully, dutifully linked.”

“Earth was just this lifeboat, hanging undisturbingly in the universe… Planet Earth, you are a crew,” Koch said.

Canadian Space Agency astronaut Jeremy Hansen highlighted the human experience of the mission and the support behind it.

“It’s the human experience that is extraordinary for us,” Hansen said.

“Gratitude for my family, gratitude for NASA, gratitude for the teams. I don’t think people will really ever fully comprehend how well supported and trained we were,” Hansen said.

Last week, Glover drew praise on social media after he said his involvement in the Artemis II mission should be seen as part of “human history,” not a racial milestone, and conservatives circulated clips of his remarks prior to the crew’s launch Wednesday.

He made the remarks during a March 29 press event ahead of NASA’s Artemis II mission, which is returning astronauts to lunar orbit for the first time in decades. The mission has been noted for its historic crew composition, including the first woman and first Black astronaut assigned to a lunar mission.

Glover acknowledged the significance of representation while pointing to a broader aspiration beyond it.

“It’s about human history. It’s the story of humanity — not Black history, not women’s history — but that it becomes human history.”

Meghan Markle, Prince Harry attend event at Netflix CEO’s home after streamer cuts ties with her brand

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry still have a friend in Netflix.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex mixed business with pleasure while on a date night for the “Beef” Season 2 Montecito Tastemaker event at the home of Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos and wife Nicole Avant.

Markle, 44, grasped Avant’s hand in one image of the group from the star-studded party amid a reported rift with the streaming giant after Netflix decided to part ways with the “As ever” lifestyle brand.

The former royals were in good company at the Southern California soiree, which also included Katy Perry, Justin Trudeau, Perry’s ex Orlando Bloom, and “Beef” stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, and Charles Melton.

PRINCE HARRY, MEGHAN MARKLE URGED TO FOLLOW WILLIAM, KATE’S WINNING PLAYBOOK AFTER NETFLIX COLLAPSE: EXPERT

Representatives for Archewell and Netflix did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

Harry and Meghan first partnered with Netflix in 2020 with a reported $100 million deal, going on to work together on the 2022 series, “Harry & Meghan,” “Live to Lead,” “Heart of Invictus” in 2023, and “Polo” in 2024.

In July 2025, Netflix confirmed they would not be renewing their deal with the royals, but instead opting for a multi-year, “first look” partnership.

Last month, the streamer divested from Markle’s latest business venture.

“Meghan’s passion for elevating everyday moments in beautiful yet simple ways inspired the creation of the As ever brand, and we are glad to have played a role in bringing that vision to life,” a spokesperson for Netflix told Fox News Digital last week.

“As it was always intended, Meghan will continue growing the brand and take it into its next chapter independently, and we look forward to celebrating how she continues to bring joy to households around the world.”

In their own statement, Markle’s brand, As ever, told People that they are “grateful for Netflix’s partnership through launch and our first year.”

“We have experienced meaningful and rapid growth, and As ever is now ready to stand on its own. We have an exciting year ahead and can’t wait to share more.”

As ever launched in 2025 as a lifestyle and home goods line, launching its first products in April, just one month after the premiere of her Netflix show, “With Love, Meghan,” which featured Markle’s celebrity friends visiting as she shared cooking, gardening and hosting tips.

Some items sold by the brand include jams and honey, tea and wine, candles, chocolate and other similar products. Following its first product launch, the brand sold out of stock in less than an hour, despite what some considered to be high prices.

Two seasons of “With Love, Meghan” were released on Netflix in March and August 2025 respectively, as well as a holiday special in December, and while it has not officially been canceled, there has been no news surrounding a third season of the show.

Iran in crisis as US talks collapse, Mojtaba’s ‘mafia’ regime blocks Khamenei burial: analyst

Published

on

A prolonged delay in the burial of Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, signals a deepening crisis inside the Islamic Republic, according to a prominent Iranian strategist.

Dr. Ramesh Sepehrrad’s remarks came as peace talks between the United States and Iran stalled and internal tensions raised questions about the regime’s stability.

Fortieth-day mourning ceremonies for Khamenei began in Iran on April 9, with authorities withholding information about his burial more than 40 days after his killing. A three-day state funeral scheduled for early March 2026 had already been postponed.

IRAN’S CEASEFIRE PUSH MAY BE A ‘CYCLE OF DECEPTION,’ ANALYSTS WARN AS SHADOWY FIGURE GAINS POWER

“Forty-four days have passed, and the regime does not have the confidence to publicly bury Mojtaba’s dead father,” Sepehrrad of the Organization of Iranian American Communities (OIAC) told Fox News Digital.

“That is an indicator of the fear within this regime from top to bottom,” Sepehrrad added, before describing how, usually, “a religious regime believes that their dead must be buried in 24 hours.”

Khamenei was killed Feb. 28 in a strike targeting a regime compound in central Tehran, with a separate strike affecting his son, Mojtaba Khamenei, 56, who succeeded him.

Mojtaba is said to be still recovering from severe facial and leg injuries, three people close to his inner circle told Reuters on April 11.

Khamenei’s face was disfigured in the attack on the supreme leader’s compound in central Tehran, and he suffered a significant injury to one or both legs, three sources told the outlet.

“The 56-year-old is nonetheless recovering from his wounds and remains mentally sharp, according to the people, who requested anonymity to discuss sensitive matters.”

IRAN MODERATES PUSHING TRUMP DEAL RISK BEING ‘ELIMINATED’ AS REGIME FRACTURES DEEPEN

He is taking part in meetings with senior officials via audio conferencing and is engaged in decision-making on major issues, including the war and negotiations with Washington, two of the sources say, according to reports.

The report came as Iran navigated diplomatic efforts with the U.S. in Islamabad aimed at easing tensions amid a two-week ceasefire, which ultimately failed to produce a breakthrough.

“Mojtaba input in the broad red lines of negotiations, even if he is not the public face,” Sepehrrad claimed. “At the end of the day, for more than 10 years, he served as his father’s right-hand man and as a conduit to the IRGC.”

“Mojtaba may be less rhetorical, less publicly ideological, and more operational because his primary focus is survival of the regime.”

Iran also confirmed Sunday it had no plans for further peace talks after the marathon summit, where Pakistan mediated.

“No plan has yet been announced for the time, place, or next round of negotiations,” Iranian state news agency Nour reported Saturday, citing the country’s Supreme National Security Council, with no statement from the new Supreme Leader.

IRAN’S SUPREME LEADER MOJTABA KHAMENEI ‘MISFUNCTIONING,’ NOT CONTROLLING REGIME: SOURCES

“Mojtaba is less the supreme leader in the traditional sense and more the coordinator of a security-led system,” Sepehrrad explained before describing him as “more like a security-backed coordinator.”

“This regime does not communicate with one unified voice. It communicates by function,” Sepehrrad said.

“One channel negotiates, another threatens, another punishes, and another tries to maintain ideological continuity. It is now a mafia,” the strategist claimed.

“The key point is not harmony but division of labor. What holds them together is regime survival, not trust.”

“What we are seeing now is deeper: a leader who lacks organic authority and therefore governs through the institution that controls force,” Sepehrrad said.

On the Iranian side, negotiations, the analyst said, also did involve “diplomats,” but a wider circle of security-linked figures shaping Tehran’s posture, reflecting the increasing dominance of hardline institutions.

US-SANCTIONED MOJTABA KHAMENEI NAMED IRAN’S NEXT SUPREME LEADER AFTER FATHER’S DEATH: REPORTS

“This was a brittle coalition of security men,” Sepehrrad said, before describing how Mojtaba is “at the top, but is heavily reliant on the Guards, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, SNSC chief Mohammad Bagher Zolghadr, IRGC commander Ahmad Vahidi, Judiciary chief Mohseni-Ejei, and law enforcement chief Ahmad-Reza Radan.”

“Several of the most important surviving figures are not primarily diplomats,” Sepehrrad said before suggesting that that should “change how we should read everything coming out of Tehran.”

“That is a different system from the one many Western analysts still think they are dealing with,” Sepehrrad explained. “Dual track — tactical flexibility in talks and a harsher repression at home.”

“While the regime negotiates to buy time, reduce pressure on its forces, and prevent broader external escalation, internally, it is likely to intensify arrests, executions, intimidation, and internet controls now,” the strategist warned.

“The regime fears internal unrest more than diplomacy,” Sepehrrad said.
