Jerry Seinfeld isn’t interested in driving electric.

The comedian, famous for his classic car collection, claimed recently that driving an electric car is more of a “virtue signal” than anything else.

“I’m not interested in electric cars at all,” he told AirMail in an interview published Saturday. “Anybody else wants to do it, that’s fine. I think it’s a big, stupid virtue signal. ‘Look at me. I’m saving the planet, yeah.’ What about the lithium? It’s all BS.”

The manufacturing of lithium-ion batteries that power electric vehicles have an impact on the environment, but EV users argue that’s negated over time if the car is driven long enough.

The stand-up comedian joked after he was asked about self-driving cars, that he always tells his kids: “that their kids will say to them, ‘You mean, when you grew up, they would let people just drive at any speed and steer the car themselves? Didn’t they just crash and kill themselves constantly?’ Yeah.”

The 72-year-old is known for collecting rare Porsches, and he’s not sure how many he has right now.

“I always say it’s an amount that if you looked at it, you would not say, ‘This makes sense.’”

Seinfeld’s first Porsche was a 1958 356 Speedster, which he said he bought after his paycheck for the first four episodes of “Seinfeld” and used as his daily car for years.

“I didn’t really know anything about older Porsches, but I just thought, Well, this car has nice lines,” he admitted. “I also thought, I’m sure you could never drive a car like this on the street; it must be ridiculous. And I ended up using it as my daily driver in L.A. for years on end.”

Seinfeld also isn’t a big fan of modern car design in general.

Last December, he told “Spike’s Car Radio” “Why is it so hard for these companies to understand what’s cool culturally?

He mused that “what’s missing is confidence.”

“There’s nothing sadder when you when you see older BMWs from the early 2000s or the ‘70s and ‘80s and you see that confidence, and now they’re just screaming at you with that horrible absurd cartoonish ideas of design that just like, just no design at all but Paganis and things of that nature.”

He said the designers think they’re being “exotic and dramatic and they’re embarrassing. Is there anything cool anymore?”

In an interview with Keith Hernandez for the SNY network six years ago, after the baseball great reminded him how much he loves his electric car and asked what he thinks of them, Seinfeld replied unenthusiastically: “Uh, it’s fine.”

The former athlete had been asking Seinfeld whether he thought each topic he brought up was “something or nothing” as a reference to “Seinfeld,” and the word “nothing” was captioned in the video after his response.

“I’ll race you,” Hernandez said, laughing. “I know they’re fast,” Seinfeld answered.

Sometime last summer, I implored you to watch out for, nay, I warned you about the hype train that was approaching regarding a certain Manning offspring.

And the crazy thing is, I wasn’t referring to Texas Longhorns quarterback, Arch Manning, either.

The Manning I was writing about was none other than Marshall, whose dad you may or may not have heard of.

A guy by the name of Peyton. Does he ring any bells?

That’s right, folks! Peyton Manning, the five-time NFL MVP and two-time Super Bowl winner, had a son, and that son is now 15-years-old and throwing a football about as well as a teenager can.

I mean, are you surprised? His dad is Peyton Freaking Manning.

And, predictably, the hype surrounding Marshall is starting to reach a fever pitch before the kid has even gotten his driver’s license.

You can’t go five posts on X these last few days without seeing fans lauding the young signal caller for his arm talent.

No. Stop. I can’t do this again.

Not THIS soon after the Arch Manning hype train got done rolling into town.

It feels like just yesterday my Twitter timeline was bombarded by videos of Arch throwing against future engineering majors at Isidore Newman High School.

The fact that I have to endure this for the next three and a half years on social media almost makes me want to quit my job, move to Montana and go off the grid for a half decade.

In fairness, the kid does look really good spinning it out there.

He literally looks like the spitting image of his father, throw mechanics and all.

I can’t get my hopes up as a Gator fan though, because the psychological torment Florida put his dad through while at Tennessee probably means he will never end up in Gainesville.

Peyton was probably telling Marshall he won’t be a Florida Gator while he was still in the womb, for Christ’s sake.

That also means his recruiting journey will be one that we have to endure for the next few years as well.

“The Marshall Manning Sweepstakes” will dominate the news feed as his cousin Arch did before him.

I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, thank GOD Eli went and had four daughters, because I am praying this is the last time a young Manning has to go through the recruiting process.

Then again, when Arch and Marshall end up having kids of their own, this cycle will just start all over again.

New York Yankees second baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. became a talking point on the internet because fans thought he was wearing an AirPod in the field.

Chisholm, 28, clarified that it was actually a piece of cotton in his ear canal because of an earache. In the Yankees’ win over the Texas Rangers on Monday, Chisholm took a grounder to the head. When he tried to field a ground ball, it kicked off his glove and clocked him in the head.

“It gave me an earache for like three or four days,” Chisholm told The Athletic.

Chisholm said he could barely hear out of his right ear and wore actual AirPods in the clubhouse to block out the noise. He used the noise-cancellation mode, trying to keep things as quiet as possible.

“Right now,” he said, “I’m feeling better. … My right ear was ringing for like three days.”

Chisholm has not missed any time and said he didn’t think it affected him. As the conversation continued to rage on about the cotton in his ear, he took to his Instagram Story to show it wasn’t an AirPod.

“All y’all just ain’t the smartest,” Chisholm captioned his picture with a shrug and laughing emoji.

He said the conversation around the cotton in his ear was “not smart.”

“I think that’s not smart at all,” Chisholm said. “I think no umpire would let it go through. No coach would let that happen. You know what I mean? I just feel like … and you would have seen a phone in my back pocket or something. I mean, AirPods don’t reach that far. So for me, it’s just like, I just didn’t think it was a smart thing. I feel like everything I do is on the media. I don’t mind it.

“If you guys love me that much, s—. I don’t mind it. I have no problem with it.”

Chisholm is off to a slow start this season but has started to pick it up lately. He has a .205 batting average with three home runs, 10 RBI and nine stolen bases.
