Catching your wife in bed with the neighbor took the fun out of swinging, and how soon is too soon to move on?

Published

on

It’s Thursday again and on Thursdays at OutKick we set aside a few minutes for romance. Not just any romance, True Romance. I’ve been at it for a little over two years now, the first column dropped back on April 11, 2024, and they haven’t told me to stop doing it yet.

So here we are headed back into the woods of romance. We have a couple of heavy hitters leading the way and getting the path ready for us to follow. Kim Kardashian, an obvious romantic at heart, packed on the PDA in the ocean in Malibu with Lewis Hamilton this week.

How did the photographers know they were going to be there? That’s not my focus. All I know is I’m glad the call was put in so that we could have such a moment on the books. This is the real Kim K. She’s a lover, not a fighter.

I said that we have a couple of heavy hitters leading the way and I meant it. No, the other heavy hitter isn’t Lewis Hamilton. He can frolic in the ocean all he wants, but it takes more than that to be considered a heavy hitter in the eyes of this hopeless romantic.

The other one is Sydney Sweeney. Lost in all the Euphoria headlines and goings on as it relates to her lingerie line lately, was a significant development in her personal life. She finally went Instagram official with her boyfriend Scooter Braun.

What a day romance had when that finally took place. It’s hard not to smile at that news, and not just because she’s dating a guy named Scooter.

Admittedly, it’s not on the level of two women brawling next to the casket at their lover’s funeral, but not much is. That’s why we go on these journeys each week.

This week is one of reflection. We have questions that need to be answered.

Should catching your spouse in bed with the neighbor take the fun out of swinging? And how long should you wait after your long-term relationship ends to have the new special someone move in?

Before we dive into that, go follow True Romance on Twitter and Facebook. Send your emails here [email protected] (anonymously if you prefer) and you can me on Instagram and Twitter.

How could this have all gone wrong? A married man with four years of swinging with his wife under his belt is now looking for a boring one-on-one relationship again.

He was first introduced to the swinging scene by a former boss who invited the couple to one of his “special parties,” the husband wrote to the Daily Star. The couple was shocked at first, but then joined in on one of the “games” at the party after being won over with flattery and have been into swinging ever since.

That was until he caught his wife in bed with a neighbor of theirs. Lines have been crossed, there are hurt feelings, and the two of them can’t see eye-to-eye anymore.

“Things got unpleasant and complicated at the end of last year when my wife started a secret affair with one of our swinging neighbors. I caught them red handed together in our bed and hit the roof,” the husband explained.

“She’d broken our bond and gone behind my back, which is not how we roll. I accused her of being secretive and cheating even though I’ve had sex with dozens of people right in front of her.”

Behind his back and in their bed. How could she have done this? What about the bond and how they roll? They don’t sneak around for action with other people. They do it at parties with others like adults. Or so he thought.

His wife is now accusing him of having double standards and he can’t help but agree. He has been with others, but he’s always been open and honest about it. She’s the one who started a secret affair, not him.

Is the solution to go back, if they can, to a traditional old school relationship? That sounds reasonable, but won’t that need for adventure eventually get the best of them both? They’ll just end up cheating on one another, right?

I have a better solution. Okay, maybe not better but I have a solution. These two have come too far to turn back now. They need to dive deeper into it. What do they have to lose? Not the marriage. He didn’t go anywhere when he uncovered his wife’s secret affair. They’re going to make it work and I, for one, am rooting for them.

A couple in their mid-20s, he’s 26 and she’s 25, just couldn’t make it to seven years together. The seven-year itch was too strong and they broke up the day before their anniversary.

They had purchased a home together last summer and it was the boyfriend who ended it. Although, she got the impression that they “were just going to be on a break.”

That was until she took a look at the security cameras and saw a new girl that he’s handsy with bringing things into their house just three days after they had broken up.

“He said that he had made it clear we are not together and that he needs a roommate. He was bowling with her in his league and saw her at the bar the day after we broke up and asked her to move in,” she wrote on Reddit about asking him what was going on.

“On the phone they both insisted that he never cheated on me. But then she bragged about cooking in our kitchen for him and giving him sexual favors on my couch.”

His new special someone is a 34-year-old divorced mom of three. In other words, she’a a catch. She had her own relationship end with an ex-boyfriend of hers and might have some personal issues that makes it seem like she doesn’t have custody of her kids.

It sounds to this hopeless romantic like there might be more to this story.

Three days doesn’t, on paper anyway, appear to be enough time to put a seven year relationship in the rearview. That’s, of course, ignoring what some people say about the abilities of a divorced woman in her thirties with kids to make you forget about your ex-girlfriend in just a few days.

Long story short, she flushed seven years down the drain. I’m confident there were many, many signs that her ex wasn’t the right one, but I’m equally as confident that she was able to repeatedly ignore them without skipping a beat. Sometimes your boyfriend breaks up with you to be with an older divorced mom and that’s a good thing.

Let’s wrap this week’s column up with another question. Why not? This question is one that’s been debated, and will continue to be debated, until the end of time. Is there something to happy wife, happy life?

Here’s some of what they’re saying about it on Reddit:

Hiker stumbles on human skull in iconic desert as mystery grows and detectives open homicide probe

Published

A grisly discovery in a remote Southern California desert has sparked a homicide investigation after a hiker stumbled upon a human skull.

San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday to a rugged area near Adobe Road and Baseline Road in Twentynine Palms after the remains were reported.

Authorities said the skull appears to belong to an adult and had likely been exposed to the elements for an extended period of time.

The Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Detail has since taken over the case — a move officials told Fox News Digital is standard procedure in cases involving human remains. Detectives, along with the Coroner’s Division and crime scene specialists, conducted an extensive search of the surrounding area and recovered the skull.

No additional remains were found.

Costco sparks bagel backlash among customers as downsized packs ignite pricing debate

Published

on

Costco is known for supersized everything — but a new product downsizing in its bakery section is getting some big attention from shoppers, and some say it may actually be better.

The warehouse giant is now offering its popular Kirkland Signature bagels in a single, eight-count pack at some locations, rather than requiring customers to purchase two packs at once as it previously did.

The shift, which was spotted by shoppers and highlighted in a recent post by Instagram account @costcobuys, is being welcomed by many who say the old bulk requirement often led to wasted food.

COSTCO FANS CLASH OVER FOOD COURT FAVORITE FOUND IN FREEZER AISLE: BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL?

“Big news for bagel lovers because the Costco bakery now sells their Kirkland Signature Bagels as a SINGLE 8-pack!” said the Instagram post, which garnered over 1 million views in a day.

Majed Kassis, who runs the account, noted a reported price of $4.99.

“No more bagels going bad before you can finish them,” the Michigan-based content creator said in the video.

Kassis told Fox News Digital that, while some people claimed the bagels are now smaller, there was mostly “positive feedback” around not having to buy two packs and wasting or freezing bagels.

MOST COSTCO SHOPPERS NEVER CHECK ONE PART OF THE STORE — A MISTAKE THAT COULD BE COSTING THEM HUNDREDS

“I never buy them for home because I don’t want 12 bagels, so love the single pack option!” one person commented.

Others said a dozen was “just too much” for them.

Shoppers have long pointed out that some Costco bakery items can be difficult to finish before they go stale, especially for smaller households. The new offering provides more flexibility without requiring freezer space or excess meal planning.

Others simply exclaimed: “Finally!”

But not everyone is convinced the change is a win.

Some commenters questioned whether the shift is less about convenience and more about pricing.

“So before, you got 12 for $5.99. Now, you get 8 for $4.99. They raised prices without raising prices,” one user claimed.

Another echoed the concern: “So now it is more expensive per pack.”

Others pushed back on that narrative, pointing out the per-unit math.

“It’s just a slight price difference per unit … $0.66/bagel [before] … $0.62/bagel [now],” one commenter calculated, suggesting the value may still be comparable depending on location and pricing.

Others argued the move goes against the retailer’s bulk-buy identity.

“This is what Costco is about, isn’t it? Buying in bulk,” one person wrote.

Nonetheless, many shoppers said they would still buy multiple packs, especially now with more variety available.

One person recalled being able to mix and match flavors under the old two-pack system.

The conversation also spilled into broader critiques of Costco’s bakery, including questions about ingredient transparency.

“You can have your fake blueberry bagels, Costco. … No, thanks,” one user wrote in response to Kassis’ post, referencing separate online discussions about “simulated blueberry” ingredients.

“Do they come with real blueberries?” another commenter asked.

The blueberry bagels have drawn criticism recently after some shoppers noticed the label indicates the fruit component is made from flavored and colored ingredients rather than real blueberries.

‘Lame duck’: Jeffries rips DeSantis after Florida invitation as redistricting fight heats up

Published

on

Democratic House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries ripped Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in a Fox News Digital interview on Thursday, calling him a “lame duck” after the governor offered to pay for his trip to Florida amid a redistricting push.

Jeffries warned DeSantis he could put Republican seats at risk as the Sunshine State remains in the spotlight of a nationwide gerrymandering battle, with parties reshuffling congressional districts for partisan advantages.

“Ron DeSantis is putting his own congressional delegation in jeopardy, which probably shouldn’t be surprising because all of them, as I understand it, can’t stand the charismatically challenged lame duck governor of Florida,” Jeffries said.

CALIFORNIA REPUBLICANS SUE TO STOP NEWSOM, DEMOCRATS FROM PUSHING REDISTRICTING PLAN

DeSantis extended the invitation to Jeffries at a press conference in Kissimmee, Florida, on Wednesday following Jeffries’ “F around and find out” warning on redistricting.

“Please. Be my guest. I will pay for you to come down to Florida to campaign,” DeSantis told the crowd. “I’ll put you up in the Florida governor’s mansion. We will take you fishing. We’ll do all this stuff. There’s nothing that could be better for Republicans in Florida than to see Jeffries, Hakeem Jeffries, everywhere around this state.”

Jeffries warned DeSantis earlier this week not to follow Texas’s lead, where Republicans pushed a redistricting map to flip up to five Democratic-held seats.

“Our message to Florida Republicans is F around and find out,” Jeffries said. “If they go down the road of a DeSantis dummymander, the Florida Republicans are gonna find themselves in the same situation as Texas Republicans, who are on the run right now. Under no circumstances are Texas Republicans picking up five seats. They’ll be fortunate if they get two or three. While in California, we are going to get all five.”

BATTLE FOR THE HOUSE RUNS THROUGH VIRGINIA AS COURT OKS HIGH-STAKES REDISTRICTING VOTE

Multiple states have moved forward with similar redistricting efforts following a push initiated by President Donald Trump.

Jeffries added that the redistricting war is not over yet.

“The Republicans are dummymandering their way into the minority before a single voter casts a ballot because they started this war and we’re going to finish it.”

With the 2026 midterms approaching, both parties hope to win the House by leveraging gerrymandering.

President Trump urged Virginia voters this week to reject the “blatant partisan power grab” in Virginia before voters headed to the polls to vote on the congressional redistricting referendum, led by Democratic Gov. Abigail Spanberger.

The referendum was passed on Tuesday night, securing Virginia Democrats a major win and increasing the party’s chances in the midterms.

FIRST ELECTION TEST FOR TRUMP’S TERM SURPRISINGLY CLOSE IN FL, GOP LOOKS TO INCREASE RAZOR-THIN HOUSE MAJORITY

DeSantis called a special session this week to focus on congressional maps that he says will “accurately reflect the population of our state.” Florida’s state constitution bans favoring parties in redistricting.

Eight Democratic-held districts are up for redrawing. Currently, Republicans hold 20 of Florida’s seats, while Democrats hold eight.

A redistricting plan has not been revealed.

Fox News Digital’s Leo Briceno contributed to this report.
