NEW: FBI Raids Powerful Democrat Politician

Federal agents executed multiple search warrants at the office of L. Louise Lucas in Portsmouth, Virginia, as part of what officials have described as a significant corruption investigation, according to reports from law enforcement sources.

The activity was first reported by Bill Melugin, who said agents with the Federal Bureau of Investigation were seen entering and securing the property while serving court-authorized warrants.

“BREAKING: Fox News is on scene in Portsmouth, VA where the FBI is raiding the office of Virginia Senate President Pro Tempore L Louise Lucas… Fed law enforcement sources tell FOX this is in connection to a major corruption probe,” Melugin wrote in a post on X.

According to the report, federal agents were not limited to Lucas’ office alone. Authorities also executed a search warrant at a neighboring cannabis dispensary located adjacent to the lawmaker’s office. Both warrants were approved by a federal judge, indicating that investigators had presented sufficient evidence to establish probable cause as part of an ongoing inquiry.

At this stage, officials have not publicly disclosed the specific nature of the alleged corruption or identified any charges connected to the investigation. Law enforcement sources have remained tight-lipped, and no formal accusations have been announced.

Alex Hogan, who was reporting from the scene, said that Lucas arrived at the location while agents were still actively conducting the search. Her presence drew attention as investigators continued to move in and out of the building, collecting materials and documenting evidence tied to the warrants.

Lucas is a prominent figure in Virginia politics, serving as Senate President Pro Tempore and wielding considerable influence within the state legislature. She is also considered a close political ally of Abigail Spanberger, further elevating the significance of the investigation given her role in shaping policy and legislative priorities in the state.

The development comes at a time when Lucas has remained publicly active, particularly on social media, where she has recently commented on political developments in Virginia, including the closely watched redistricting debate. That broader political backdrop adds another layer of attention to the unfolding situation.

Despite the high-profile nature of the search, neither the FBI nor Lucas’ office issued an immediate public statement addressing the incident. Requests for comment from multiple outlets had not been returned as of the latest reporting.

Federal search warrants, especially those targeting elected officials, are typically part of lengthy and complex investigations that can take months or even years to develop. They often involve financial records, communications, and other documentation that investigators believe may be relevant to potential criminal activity. However, the execution of a search warrant does not, by itself, indicate guilt or guarantee that charges will be filed.

For now, many details remain unclear, including what specific evidence authorities are seeking and how the neighboring business may be connected to the probe. The lack of official information has left observers relying largely on on-the-ground reporting and limited statements from law enforcement sources.

As the investigation continues, additional details are expected to emerge in the coming days or weeks. Until then, the situation remains fluid, with federal authorities maintaining control of the inquiry and the public awaiting further clarification about the scope and potential implications of the case.

It Passed! Speaker Johnson Pulls It Off — This Changes Everything!

The Republican-controlled United States House of Representatives passed legislation that would require federal authorities to detain and deport undocumented immigrants who are accused of assaulting law enforcement officers.

The measure, titled the “Detain and Deport Illegal Aliens Who Assault Cops Act,” passed by a vote of 265 to 148, with 54 Democrats joining Republicans in support. The bill is being led by Jeff Van Drew.

“There is no reason that an illegal alien who attacks our law enforcement should remain in our country; that shows zero respect for our rule of law or our institutions, and they will not be positive contributors to society,” Van Drew said.

The legislation would require federal authorities to hold individuals in custody until deportation proceedings are completed. It also creates a new category of inadmissibility for non-citizens accused of assaulting police officers.

Following the vote, Tom Emmer criticized Democratic opposition to the bill.

“House Democrats just voted to protect violent, illegal immigrants over our brave law enforcement officers. Once again, the Democrat Party proves they are the most anti-law enforcement party in history,” Emmer said.

Separately, a new poll discussed on CNN highlighted public perceptions of economic issues. Data analyst Harry Enten noted that Republicans continue to hold an advantage when voters are asked which party is closer to their economic views.

“You would think after all of the waves… that you’d expect that Democrats would have this massive lead on the economy. It ain’t so,” Enten said during a segment with anchor Kate Bolduan.

Enten pointed to polling showing Republicans maintaining an advantage on economic issues, including data from Ipsos surveys indicating a double-digit lead when respondents were asked which party has a better economic plan.

“How is that possible… after all the recession fears… and Republicans still hold an eight point lead on the economy?” Enten said.

He added that similar trends appear across multiple surveys, suggesting Republicans continue to hold an edge on economic perceptions, including among middle-class voters.

Democrat Politician Ditches Party, Switches To Republican

Dale Girard, a New Hampshire state representative and the mayor of Claremont, announced that he has formally left the Democratic Party and registered as a Republican.

“This morning, I went to Claremont City Hall and officially changed my party affiliation to the Republican Party,” Girard wrote in a Facebook post.

Girard said the decision came after “a great deal of thought and consideration” and emphasized that it was not motivated by any personal dispute with Democratic leadership.

“I want to be clear, this is not a reflection of any issue I have with Democratic Party leadership,” he wrote. “However, during my time serving as a Representative in Concord, I came to realize that my personal ideologies did not align as closely with the party as I once believed.”

Girard described the switch as a reflection of how he has voted in recent years.

“Over the years, many have described me as a ‘Blue Dog Democrat,’ a label more common in the John F. Kennedy era than in today’s political climate,” he wrote. “My voting record over the past two years has often aligned more closely with Republican positions, and this change reflects that reality.”

He also sought to reassure local residents that the party change would not affect his approach to governing, especially in his role as mayor.

“That said, changing my party affiliation does not change who I am,” Girard wrote. “My commitment remains the same: to represent the best interests of the City of Claremont, the Town of Croydon, and the State of New Hampshire.”

“This also does not affect my role as Mayor, which is a nonpartisan position,” he added.

Girard said he intends to carry the party switch into the next election cycle.

“If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. I look forward to continuing my work in Concord and will be running as a Republican in the next election cycle, which opens in early June,” he wrote.

The announcement was quickly celebrated by Republicans online, with social media posts describing the move as a “REPUBLICAN FLIP” and a “Big win for @NHGOP.”

For New Hampshire Republicans, the switch may be viewed as another example of ongoing political realignment heading into the midterm elections.

For Girard, however, the explanation was straightforward: he said his priorities have not changed, only the party affiliation he believes better reflects them.
